Aliyah Makes a Visit

Sunday, August 23, 2015

So recently I was contacted by Brown Eyed Dolls and was given the opportunity to review any doll* of my choice. I was given a link to their website and from there I went on to choose my favorite.
I choose Aliyah.

According to their About page, Brown Eyed Dolls prides its self on providing culturally diverse, yet fashionable dolls for all children. Their dolls showcase aesthetics ranging with different skin tones and hair textures.

When I was contacted by this company, I was more than ecstatic to submit a review. Growing up, the majority of dolls that I came across were fair skinned and straight haired. I never really had a dolls that looked like me, which is why I went for Aliyah, whose has a warm medium brown skin tone and  kinky hair. (At the time I picked her out, she was the only one I saw with curly hair, but now the other doll, Michelle, has "transitioned" to natural! Check her out.)

Aliyah is very well made. Her hair is bouncy and soft, her joints are bendable, and her outfit- a pink and white striped dress, paired with a black and white leather jacket, and finished off with black heels and pink gem earrings- is so cute! I know that if I were younger I would absolutely love to play with this doll, which is exactly why I'm gifting it to my 9 year old sister who hasn't been able to keep her eyes off it since it arrived. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking to take their dolls shopping "out of the box".

In the comments below, by all means, tell me: What was your favorite toy growing up? I remember one Christmas, I got a Jade from the Bratz doll. I would carry her everywhere. Her outfit was '60s inspired and the doll came with a little cd that showcased 3 '60s songs as well. I was obsessed! (I just so happened to chop up her hair and not want her anymore, lol.)

*(Although I did receive this doll for free, all views and opinions are mine. I'd like to thank Margret from Brown Eyed Dolls, who was very helpful throughout my shopping process.)

Easy Drugstore Makeup Tutorial

Friday, July 31, 2015

Hi guys! Recently, I've finally gotten the guts to do something I've always wanted to. Ive uploaded my first youtube video! Youtube is the catalyst for my whole beauty obsession and its the reason why I even made this blog in the first place.  I've always been way too nervous to join into the YouTube community and this blog has been a sort of outlet so me (even though I'm rarely on due to school and work). I can't even tell you how many videos I've recorded only to delete them due to nerves, but I filmed, edited, and upload this beau which I'm super proud of. It's a fairly simple tutorial that features drugstore makeup products that are available to nearly everyone and I hope you enjoy! All of the products used are in the description. xx

Saturday, July 4, 2015

I'm alive!!! Haha. So I haven't been posting as much as I've wanted, between the end of the school year and starting a new job I've been swamped lately and blogging has (sadly) been the last thing on my mind. Anywho, I so excited to say that I was nominated for the creative blogger award by Teayii who is behind the beautiful blog, Wild Flower. • I can knit faster than your grandma. (Basically, what you're getting from this list so far is that I'm a nerd.
  • I have this habit of buying sweets, planning to ration them out through a whole week or so, but ultimately finishing them all on the first day. (lol)
  • I'm the type of person who is everyone's friend from the get go, but if any sort of "bad blood" happens between us you could go from best friend to acquaintance real quick. • I haven't had my first kiss yet. *shrugs*

The Wilds

Saturday, May 2, 2015

So last week, my family and I had the great opportunity to embark on a free field trip to the Wilds courtesy of my school, ECOT, the Electronic Classrrom of Tomorrow. North America's largest conservation park. We rose early in the day, with yawns coming out of our mouths and sleep glitter still in our eyes. Soon after we were all packed up and ready to go. The ride was long. Nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes of ruthless Ohio hills and all things country spread all around us...

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Finish Foundation Review

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Hey lovelies! It's been a while. I've been experimenting with my blog identity lately, so much so that's it's kept me away from my blog! Recently, I've been thinking about dabbing into the YouTube side of things, filming and editing, and I've actually completed about 3 videos (???)...but I deleted them, because my OCD is a bitch. Perfectionism at it's worst, ladies and gents. Anyway, some things that I haven't deleted involving my vids (that are now 6 feet under) are my shameless selfies that resulted from them. So I decided to turn said selfies into reviews, because why the heck not.

How I Manage My Mental Health

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

What's up guys? So, as some of you may have learned from my first blog post, I have OCD, Agoraphobia, and Dysthymia. I've had these mental illnesses for about 4 years because I developed them around the age of twelve and while I'm not at the most desirable place in my journey, I've still come pretty far so I've decided to make a list about how I've managed it.
